New Court Maintenance Procedure:

In an effort to provide the best indoor clay playing surface possible, we have adopted a new maintenance schedule on the clay courts which should leave them softer and provide a superior playing surface throughout the entire winter.  One component of this system requires member assistance.  Each time the courts are played on, material is packed down which over time will cause a hard surface.  Our own maintenance routine periodically aerates this layer with commercial devices, however it would be impossible for us to aerate on a daily basis.  The largest supplier of clay court material in the United States, Lee Tennis, was consulted and recommends that instead of sweeping the courts with nylon bristle brushes, they should periodically be swept with aluminum brushes.  The more frequently the better, according to Lee.  For that reason, we purchased two sets of aluminum brooms which we will alternately place on two courts each week.  The courts with the heavier aluminum brooms will also have the traditional nylon brooms for those unable to lift or drag the aluminum brooms.  We ask that if you are physically able, please use the aluminum brooms to help better the playing surface for all members.

Four Court Bubble Intercom:

Due to requests from members, we have placed an intercom monitor in the four court bubble adjacent to the revolving door at the entrance.  To operate, please follow the instructions.  Please us this device for emergencies or for maintenance concerns requiring immediate attention.  Thank you.
